The expansion of the Engineering Department means we are now looking to recruit new Civil Engineering Manager reporting to the Project Manager Lead.

- Can you manage the design activities related to civil, structural, architectural, utilities, and associated building services?
- Are you familiar with tendering process?
- Can you manage sub-contractors schedule, deliverables and milestones?
- Do you have experience with large capex investment project?
As Civil Engineering Manager, you'd be managing all Civil, Structural, Architectural and Utilities (CSA+U) aspects of the project at both design level and at project level. This mean you would be responsible for overseeing the basic design, detailed design, design coordination, construction and commissioning of the CSA+U part of the project to ensure it is delivered and completed safely, on schedule, to the required quality and within budget.
What you’ll be doing:
- Accountable for successful and safe project delivery in terms of budget, schedule and quality
- Closely collaborates with the Project Manager in providing overall project leadership and program management direction.
- Leads the construction planning and site establishment process
- Secures acceptance and approval of deliverables from the Project Sponsor and Stakeholders
- Manages the interface between the design, permitting, procurement and construction teams
- Identifies key project risks and appropriate mitigation strategies. Communicates progress and key issues with KI management.
- Organizes and leads meetings, to be conducted weekly, amongst project management from KI, Design and the Permitting Consultants.
- Manages the interface between the design team and the construction team.
- Responsible for overall project communication, including status reporting and risk management.
- Ensures appropriate document control and design documentation archiving, including numbering, revisions, etc. is in place for the CSA+U part of the project.
- Leads the interdisciplinary technical coordination in all Project areas to ensure technical quality, schedule and budget of the works and delivery products according to the Contract scope and KI technical specifications.
- Manages the Civil & Structural design, the Utility & Underground piping design as well as building services (fire, lighting, grounding…) design and execution.
- Project safety leader, contributing actively for the project HSE performance
- Takes a lead role in the management of the procurement process and help establish the project procurement strategy
- Provides input into the development of the overall progress schedule in conjunction with the Project Scheduler or the Project Manager
- Drives a risk-based process to identify where potential quality issues may arise
What we’d love for you to have:

- An academic degree in civil, structural, architectural or technical engineering.
- Experienced minimum 5-10 years in the engineering and/or project management of large Capital Investment Projects (€10-50Mios).
- Good people management skills – responsible of a multidisciplinary team.
- Outstanding negotiation skills – experience in negotiating contracts.
- Great communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office – ability to produce reports.
- Scheduling and planning experience.
- Ability to actively resolve conflicts.
- Proficient in English (verbally & written) and additional language is an advantage.
- During construction, all project staff should be located on site, and there will be around 30-40% work-related travels.
