We are looking to recruit a new Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Hardware Engineer in Visé, Belgium and reporting to the Head of Electrical Controls and Instrumentation.

As an E&I Hardware Engineer, you will have the opportunity to travel to different plants in EMEA/APAC for 30% of the time. Your presence on site with the teams will also be important.
What you’ll be doing:
Manage multiple projects project following the KIE Capital Investment Project Management process through its different phases and gate reviews:
- Deliver functional descriptions together with the Mechanical Technology Engineering Managers for the different processes
- Develop and define operational concepts
- Develop and maintain engineering standards and practices, which are already within the department, update guideline documents when needed
- Deliver and verification of scope specifications / requirements with Technology Engineering Managers in order to lead the design of electrical systems and prevent scope / design changes
- Keep relationships with outside manufacturers and vendors to facilitate design and stay up to date with new technologies
- Validate tendering and deliver bid comparisons for several scopes
- Validate intermediate and final as build documentation (software, operation manual)
- Archive engineering and design information, drawings and related reference lists for each scope package
- Manage suppliers and their scope from E&I point of view
- Supervise the commissioning of scope packages
- Support in problem solving of deficiencies
- Control of the sensitive equipment, being able to avoid a stop of the line. Act as trouble shooter in case of a line shutdown
- Ensure designs meet legal guidelines and safety requirements
- Negotiate issues with contractors/suppliers to the best interest of the project
- Deliver the objectives of the project on time, within budget tolerance, and meeting the fitness for use
- Maintain competency and state-of-art knowledge in pertinent aspects of engineering disciplines
- Control and issue technical files to plant team, work out maintenance task lists, give recommendations for spare parts for pre-listed machines
- Participate to network meetings
- Lead the asset management program for your equipment, audit each year several plants, recommend improvements to the process and equipment, troubleshoot/modify/improve their equipment
- Train and mentor other engineers
What we’d love for you to have:

If you have experience in the following areas – this is an added advantage:
- Engineer or equivalent by experience;
- At least 5 years of experience in E&I systems
- Solid experience in electrical power distribution within manufacturing environments. Experience in the manufacturing sector is essential, regardless of the specific type of manufacturing.
- Language: Fluent in English. Any other language is a plus
- Having a good knowledge of computer software tools (AutoCAD, EPLAN, 3D modeling, Navisworks, MS office, ...)
- Good knowledge of SAP, for ordering and cost control
- Solid knowledge of Industrial standards, philosophy of hardware configuration of process control, drive/motor (control) systems (Siemens).
- Strong communication skills: example: clearly explaining design ideas and reading/interpreting drawings and specifications (sound engineering judgment).
- Autonomous, organized, proactive ;
- Must be able to work appropriately as the leader of a team, be as comfortable with the theory as with the practice
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team with engineering and project managers, work within deadlines
- Having the ability to create and maintain a positive relationship
- To be assertive and have self-confidence in presenting and supporting conclusions, having communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to multi-task and prioritize work (different projects and technologies)
- Ability to be a creative thinker; search solutions and simplify the situation;
