- How has the program helped you take on your current responsibilities and challenges?
The graduate program was instrumental in shaping my career and preparing me for my current role as a plant manager. It provided me with a strong foundation in both technical and leadership skills, exposing me to various aspects of the business, from operations to project management. The rotational structure of the program allowed me to gain hands-on experience in different environments, which gave me a holistic understanding of how the company operates. This experience has been invaluable in helping me tackle the complex challenges of managing a manufacturing site, from optimizing production processes to leading diverse teams. The program also emphasized the importance of adaptability and continuous learning, which are critical in a dynamic industry like ours.
- How have you been able to make an impact on the business since completing the graduate program?
Since completing the graduate program, I’ve been fortunate to contribute to the company in several meaningful ways. Early on, I was able to lead central projects that improved product quality and group energy performance. Over the last years working in a manufacturing plant, I could focused on operational efficiency and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within my teams, encouraging them to think creatively and take ownership of their work. Now, as a plant manager, I’m in a position to drive larger-scale initiatives, such as implementing sustainable practices in our manufacturing processes and ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how the skills and knowledge I gained during the program have translated into tangible results for the business.
- What advice would you give new graduates to thrive in their first two years?
My advice to new graduates is to embrace every opportunity to learn and grow, even if it takes you out of your comfort zone. The first two years are a time to be curious, ask questions, and build a strong network within the company. Don’t be afraid to take on challenges or make mistakes—those experiences are often the most valuable for your development. Also, take the time to understand the company’s values and culture, as they will guide you in making decisions and building relationships. Finally, stay open to feedback and be proactive in seeking out mentors who can support and guide you on your journey. Remember, the graduate program is just the beginning of a long and rewarding career.
