The expansion of the Global Product Sustainability Department means we are now looking to recruit new LCA&EPD Process Certification Manager in Visé, Belgium and reporting to the Knauf Group LCA&EPD Project Manager..

As part of the "Knauf Corporate Life Cycle Assessment Expertise Center," the Process LCA&EPD Process Certification Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing Knauf's product sustainability expertise on a global scale, encompassing over 200 plants and diverse product portfolios (plaster-based products, insulation, steel frames, ceiling tiles, etc.). Based at Knauf Insulation in Visé, a recognized leader in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) within the Group, this position focuses on supporting the certification and external verification of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), while developing standardized and automated processes to meet the demands of sustainable construction projects and future regulatory requirements (e.g., BIM, Digital Product Passports).
Key responsibilities include training teams, aligning EPD processes with ISO certifications (9001 & 14001), coordinating with industry associations on product sustainability, and monitoring market trends and certification developments. Additionally, the role involves promoting knowledge sharing on LCA topics, ensuring high-quality sustainability data collection, and facilitating the implementation of new methods, standards, and tools to reinforce Knauf's market positioning as a sustainability leader.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage LCA expectations and develop EPDs processes management system accordingly with the relevant markets
- Coordinate the work with LCA experts, regional EPD managers, QHSE and products managers, as well as any third party to get certifications and maintain it
- Adapt LCA processes following scientific evolution and/or methodology changes.
- Looks for optimizing the data collection to feed in the LCA models.
- Based on audits and internal reviews, gives feedback to all involved teams as a suggestion for improvements
- Keep himself / herself on top of LCA standardization knowlegde
- Contribute to:
- creating the next generation EPD – LCA data automatize delivery as a service to the customer
- the digitalization of the EPDs i.e. inclusion into BIM
- keeping LCA program in line with the developments in the construction sector: regulations and green buildings rating schemes
- supporting the Management in the development of LCA methods, standards & applications (PEF, TC 350, ECO Platform, new indicators, circular Economy …)
- He / she establishes contacts with the scientific community such universities, consultancy, research institutes;
- To be the driving force behind the continuous improvement of processes and tools
- I know and I participate: I actively participate when an improvement proposal is made using the techniques and tools at my disposal.
- I apply: I regularly use the acquired skills (RCA, 5S OPACO, improvement proposal/GME).
- I suggest: If I detect a potential improvement, I do not hesitate to bring it up, along with a solution proposal for the project to be carried out.
- I lead: If an improvement project is proposed and considered valid and that I have the agreement of my hierarchy, I carry out this project with the necessary management and team.

If you have experience in the following areas – this is an added advantage:
- Degree in environmental engineering, chemistry, or comparable natural science or engineering studies
- 3+ years of professional experience in management systems like SO 9001 and ISO 14001
- Experience with construction products and related sustainability claims
- Knowledge of the relevant life cycle assessment methods/standards EN 15804+A2 and EN 15978
- Program and project’s portfolio management expertise
- Expertise in managing global project with multiple actors.
- Able to play with transformation processes and management of change
- Very good written and oral skills in English; French, German and Spanish are a plus.
- Confident handling of MS Office applications and collaboration software
- Willingness to travel occasionally (20%)
